Who's excited for the Oscars? I know I am! The Biggest Night in Hollywood is set to take center stage at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles this Sunday and with that being said I cannot wait to see the results. Some of the nominees for the coveted Best Picture award include Black Swan, Inception, The King's Speech, Toy Story 3,  and The Social Network. (Toy Story 3 all the way, baby!)
In Dirty Scum-Bag News, Kelsey Grammer tied the knot today after finalizing his divorce a mere few weeks earlier. His new wife, Kayte Walsh, (that is- Wife #4) arrived in a bathrobe at the Plaza Hotel today where the ceremonies were held. She of course later discarded the robe for a something a little more elegant. Here's a little something to get a feel for the grandeur of the event:

Why do the nice guys always finish last?! (Kelsey Grammer certainly hasn't been very nice lately!) Still need more evidence of the ceremony's excess? Let's just say, at the reception each guest ate a hearty $400 worth of lobster and goat cheese truffles, .
In perhaps Dirtier Scumbag News, Charlie Sheen may have very well ruined his career once and for all... for good.... like really this time! The (possibly sober?) actor was recorded this week bashing his coworkers at his hit sitcom, Two and a Half Men, which led to the cancellation of the show for the rest of the season. This all comes after the show had been momentarily cancelled to wait for Sheen's recovery from rehab. However, this time there is no feeling in the air of redemption. Therefore, it is this blogger's hypothesis that Two and a Half Men will not only be cancelled for the season, but for good. (Which I quite honestly don't mind in the least... I hated that show!)
Lastly, because I hate to end on a note like that, I want to leave you all this week with a video of the newly released music video to Ke$ha's single, Blow. (P.S. Comment to tell me if you laughed too. Oh yea, and let me know if you felt bad for the unicorns too; the poor dears!)

Who has spring fever? I know I do! (It's actually even gotten up to sixty degrees here in the arctic tundra of Illinois!) With this spring fever in mind, I am reminded of what season is synonymous with spring... Award Show Season. With the awards season in full swing, I couldn't leave out last Sunday's biggest night in music: The Grammy's. Some of the notable events of the evening included a snub of Justin Bieber for Best New Artist and Lady Gaga appearing out of a giant egg. ("IT'S A VESSAL!" she might say. Oh yea, and Born This Way isn't similar to Express Yourself either.) Anyway, for those of you who (like me actually- I was coordinating a Valentine's Day banquet) were not able to watch all of (or any of) the Grammy's, I have so kindly found some of the evenings most anticipated results for you.

Since there hasn't been a Reason The World is Coming to an End segment recently, I think I've finally found a story worthy of the title: Anna Nicole- The Opera. This week in London an opera based on the life of the deceased Playboy star opened at Royal Opera House to the dismay of Anna's family. Her ex-boyfriend has said he is even considering suing for the matter. However, instead of ramble on more and more about this, I'll leave you with being able to decide for yourselves and the first video I've posted in a relatively long time.

P.S. Okay I lied, I actually must also mention that the highly anticipated music video for Britney Spear's hit song, "Hold It Against Me," premiered this week as well. Ultimately, it looked very expensive yet lacked any kind of artistic substance to it... well I guess it is Britney after all. (I think this may be the first time we've had two videos in a single blog- hooray, a new record!)

This has just been one fantastic week in the world of J.C. White. Not only was I able to finish my application to the Summer High School Program at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and then able to take a day off of school to tour the University of Chicago, (which I've kind of fallen in love with) but I was also given enough celebrity news (and juicy enough news) to last me a good, oh, six months or so.
Because I'm in such great spirits, I'll start out with some good news. Charlie Sheen, who has recently had to delay shootings for his hit sitcom, "Two and a Half Men," to go to rehab, has decided to be a saint and has agreed to pay the salaries of the crew of the show until they can go back to shooting new episodes. (Okay, he actually agreed to pay 1/3 of it with Warner Bros. and CBS also individually paying another third each, but at least it's a start.) However, the question is: Is this just a publicity stunt to get into the good graces of the public, or is he really a genuinely nice guy? The world may never know... (like the Tootsie Pop commercials!)
Guess what? We're not even finished with our good news yet. To top off this great news, this week Lady Gaga released her highly anticipated new single, "Born This Way." And... it's awesome! Yes, it reminds me a lot of Madonna's "Express Yourself," but luckily I LOVE Madonna and that song and therefore also love Lady Gaga and this new take on it!
However, since whenever things seem too good to be true, they usually are, I do have to leave you with some bad information. Let's just say, "Did you see Christina Aguilera botch the national anthem at the Super Bowl this week. First, she messed up the words by repeating a verse she already sang, and then she screamed out a random note for the songs final, "brave." It may have been a disgrace to the country, but for me, it was a moment of pure bliss. (Sorry America... yea maybe it's not the most patriotic feeling towards the issue, but comedy is comedy.)

P.S. I had intended to embed videos from Youtube for both the Lady Gaga song and the Christina Aguilera screw-up, but my Mac decided to hate me today and therefore, I will kindly instead suggest you to look up the videos for yourself.

The last week I've been trapped inside my house due to the "snowpocalypse" that has come crashing down on the Midwest. With that said, I have to admit it's been a little difficult to think much about celebrity gossip as I've been to busy thinking about how not to kill myself by falling on the ice rink that now resides in my front yard. (Although, I have to admit, a lot of my brain capacity has also been used up by pondering each evening about whether or not we'll have school the next day... and therefore also pondering the age old question: To procrastinate, or not to procrastinate?) With all of this in mind, this weeks post may be a little shorter than most of my blogs are. (It's okay though, I promise to make it up to you in a couple of weeks when I'm sure I'll have tons of material from the Grammy's.)
Anyway, without further adieu... surprise, surprise. Lindsay Lohan may be going back to jail... again. (I know, I should probably call the Guiness Book of World Records and see if she's broken the record for number of mug shots in a year.) Although, in somewhat more surprising news it is not a drug-related incident for which she may face time for now. (Phew... I knew you were all worried on that one!) No, not Lindsay. Now she only is accused of... GRAND THEFT?! A Venice, CA jewelry store reported a necklace stolen to the LAPD this week saying that it was stolen by Ms. Lohan. Of course, Lindsay denied it, saying that the jewelry was loaned to her by the store to wear as a promotional item. She then magically found the necklace in question and had an assistant return it to the store for her. The jewelry store in retaliation however, is not buying it as they said they do not make loans without making the celebrity in question fill out paperwork.  As for what I buy into... I actually think Lindsay might be telling the truth. This is because it would appear that she would have no motive for stealing the necklace, (seriously- I think it's pretty obvious she can buy pretty much whatever she wants) wouldn't want to do anything that might violate her probation (now she could face up to three years in prison), and furthermore, I get the impression that Lindsay may have finally- FINALLY!- decided to rejoin the human race. The jewelry store however, does have something to gain from the incident: 15 minutes of fame. Furthermore, Lindsay was quoted as saying, "I don't deal with paperwork." This quote I believe is so stupid- celebrity stereotype sounding that it could only be true. Therefore, let the construction of "Free Lindsay" posters begin!
